Chaucer is a specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting group providing the management skills, expertise and capital required to underwrite insurance business at Lloyd's, the world's leading insurance and reinsurance market. Its roots trace back to 1922 and since then they have grown to become one of the most successful insurance groups at Lloyd's.

The range of opportunities available within Chaucer reflects the wide diversity of skills required to successfully build the Chaucer business. From underwriting and claims to human resources and finance, Chaucer's network of employees work together as a talented, dedicated and resourceful team. Each year they recruit between 3-5 graduates on to their 2 year rotational graduate programme where the successful candidates develop a solid working knowledge of the principles of underwriting through exposure to key areas of the business, such as risk management, claims, third party syndicate management and underwriting. This approach provides every graduate with a clear understanding of how their underwriting business operates. They require individuals who have a strong ambition to develop into underwriting roles. They also regularly recruit for entry level roles within other business areas such as reinsurance, actuarial, claims, modelling and business support roles.
