Few things are certain in life. Economic upheaval, political crises, natural disasters – and plenty more besides – all mean the world can be full of surprises. Depending on the area you join, you’ll be using your numeracy, analytical abilities and strong communication skills to help clients address key questions that affect the running and growth of their businesses. What will be the impact of rising life expectancy? How would the collapse of the Eurozone affect the world economy? Will we see an increase in anti-globalisation protests? Can we look forward to a rise in living standards? Or should we all be preparing for a fall? Aon’s business is to provide the answers.
Our philosophy is to employ people with the right skills and attitude to help our clients – giving them the support they need to develop and enabling them to find opportunities that play to their strengths. As you build a successful career with us, you'll be moulded for a client-facing role, become a technical specialist in your individual area and advise our clients on our market-leading products.
Our Launch Graduate Development Programme supports your role and the objectives of the Stream you join. It will give you fantastic opportunities to grow your business knowledge, professional skills and relationships, enabling you to advance your development.
In order to distinguish ourselves from the market, our brokers and consultants need to be at the top of their game; clients rely on our expertise. The Graduate Programme will give you broad-based business acumen, as well as comprehensive knowledge of all our business solutions including:
- Industry qualifications – an industry leading study support package will help you develop technical expertise and add real value to our clients
- Knowledge sessions - we have a wealth of experienced individuals who will spend time with you explaining the make-up and technical capabilities of our business
- Hands-on learning - we will equip you with the fundamental compliance and regulatory knowledge to ensure our clients receive exemplary advice and service
As a market leader in all our businesses, we are able to offer our graduates a highly attractive reward and benefits package for a permanent role with the company. We also recognise studying while you’re learning a new role can be difficult – and we expect you to progress quickly. So our study packages are generous both in terms of study leave and exam bonuses to ensure your success, and this support continues beyond our graduate programme and is available for all Aon employees.
You’ll join our nine week summer internship in one of six business areas, where you’ll be given real responsibility from day one, working alongside Aon colleagues on client projects. Through undertaking the same work as graduates you’ll gain an insight into our business, an understanding of our culture and the career paths available to you.
Despite being an intern your learning and development is an important focus for us, your internship will start with an induction in London with interns from across Aon UK, where you’ll learn about our business, develop new skills and undertake technical training. Your development will not end there, in addition to your on the job learning you’ll participate in lunch and learns, our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) projects and continued training.
Around our businesses, our formal Internship Programmes are viewed as a high-potential pipeline for our Graduate Programmes. As a participant you will be automatically considered for a place on our Graduate or future Internship Programmes based on your performance and achievements during your time with us, with no further assessment necessary.
We recruit across the UK into eight different areas of our business:
