Marsh - Norwich-based apprenticeship roles Are you doing your research around what to do next? Deciding between university and starting a career? Take a look at this one.

It also has apprenticeship roles within two of its teams, based in Norwich (it's not just about London): 

  1. Data Management and Analytics
  2. Marsh Portfolio Solutions

These two-year programmes start in September 2017 and give you a solid foundation in insurance. It is also a great way to study for professional qualifications.

UK and Ireland Data and Management Information Team

This team customers with a variety of analytical outputs and applications.  The postholder will gain a broad understanding of the tools and technologies in use and help in the day-to-day operational processes. Key areas include:


  • Managing incoming requests for new management information (MI) and changes to existing MI and any queries which arise
  • Updating work tracking applications and routing requests to relevant sub-teams
  • Acquiring knowledge and understanding of the Marsh accounting and placement systems
  • Understanding the varying methods of MI delivery and the associated technologies that are used to develop and deploy
  • Acquiring knowledge of the Marsh business areas and functional topic areas that exist across the UK&I Data and MI client base.

Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) Team

You will support the MPS team with all the data and technical tasks for the various Facilities. You will help interpret insurance slips and endorsements to process risk details and premium information onto our internal database.

Other activities include assisting with reconciliation of captured slip data between MPS Facility Clients and Marsh and any ad-hoc reports required by the MPS Facility Client or Marsh internal practices. 

This role sits in the Client Service section of Marsh Portfolio Solutions, working closely with the Senior Technical Support Analyst, Technical Support Analyst’s and the MPS Team. Key outputs include:


  • Inputting risk data into databases ensuring excellent attention to detail
  • Helping to reconcile data
  • Assisting the team with extracting data from the systems 
  • Validation of data entry where required


Qualification & Skills:

  • A Levels (or equivalent qualifications) with a minimum of 240 UCAS points 
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths (essential), English (essential) and ICT (desirable)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ambitious and hard working 
  • Team player 
  • Willingness to complete professional qualification (CII)
