Risk and Underwriting roles at NFU Mutual

NFU Mutual is a national business that has more than 100 years of experience and expertise behind it. 

As you can tell from the name, it's a mutual. That means that it's owned by its 900,000+ members. You are never far from NFU Mutual - it has more than 300 branches around the country. So, if you want to work in a business that works closely face to face with its customers and communities, this is a good one. 

Right now, the business has two vacancies in its impressive Stratford-upon-Avon headquarters, right in the heart of Shakespeare country. 

Risk Analyst - up to £28,000 per year 

This role sits in the company's Data Protection, Information Security and Business Continuity team, which is in turn part of the Risk and Actuarial part of the business. The team makes sure that the company is compliant and protected from the financial impacts of operational risks. As a Risk Analyst you will help to manage this insurance programme, with a budget of c£1.5m. 

It's an interesting role that will give you 

  • Product and claims knowledge 
  • Exposure to senior management 
  • Expertise in running risk assessments across the business

Underwriting Support Assistant - up to £20,000 plus bonus per year   

This role sits in the company's Group Corporate Business (GCB) unit, a key part of the future success of NFU Mutual. As an Underwriting Support Assistant you will build product knowledge and work with the GCB and Underwriting teams. 

It's another interesting role that will give you

  • Experience in report writing 
  • Relationship management skills in and out of the business 
  • The responsibility of managing your own workload 

So, if you have good MS skills including Access and Excel, with a data-driven mindset and good communication skills, do apply for this role. You do not need to be a graduate to apply for this role but you will need at least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C/ or above.
