Over the last two decades, Asta has launched nineteen start-up syndicates and established five new managing agents for our clients operating in Lloyd’s. Today, they manage ten Lloyd’s syndicates, two Lloyd’s SPAs and two MGA clients, with over £1.4bn of underwriting capacity under our management.

Asta is currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join their team.  The main purpose of the role is to To ensure all underwriting records are entered and maintained accurately and to assist Underwriters as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • To achieve the required standard for all risk entries/document scanning and maintain all records required to produce an accurate Underwriting database
  • Monitor renewal list and liaise with underwriter & broker to ensure all renewal risks are followed up
  • To maintain records and collect outstanding adjustments; ensuring all relevant adjustable policies are actioned to the level required, which may involve liaison with brokers and in-house legal team.
  • To maintain and produce detailed minutes for the Syndicate box meeting
  • Liaise with Credit Control to ensure all premium and bordereaux issues are in order.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with Underwriters and Lloyd's Brokers.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Good organisational skills

Key technical skills:

  • Basic knowledge of insurance to ensure a level of understanding
  • IT skills - good working knowledge of MS office and Syndicate databases/systems
