Summer placements - second year students, have you seen these opportunities?
It's such a competitive job market out there, as you already know. Recruiters are looking for people who have solid work experience - it's really not enough to hold a first class degree if you haven't got this work experience to demonstrate your skills.
If you're considering a career in insurance, risk or finance, you should give some serious thought to a second year summer placement programme. This is a particularly good way of showing your credentials to an employer, so that when the time comes to apply for their graduate sceheme, they already know how good you are.
