Aviva get behind Climate Week 2012

Aviva get behind Climate Week 2012

Climate Week is Britain's biggest climate change campaign, inspiring a new wave of action to create a sustainable future. The first Climate Week in March 2011 saw half a million people attending 3,000 events in Britain's biggest ever environmental occasion.  Climate Week is backed by every part of society and last year's events were run by schools, businesses, charities, councils and many others.

In the campaign's second year, which runs from 12th-18th March 2012, the UK's largest insurer Aviva is the official insurance supporter.  Aviva have been carbon neutral since 2006 so being involved with the campaign for the second year running is a natural move for them.

Aviva is one of Europe's leading companies when it comes to turnover versus emissions.  Did you know they have a worm farm under their head office building in London dealing with kitchen waste?  Tackling climate change and protecting the environment are key priorities for Aviva.  They strive to offer low carbon solutions for their customers and their membership of CliamteWise helps them do this.

ClimateWise is a collaborative insurance initiative through which members aim to work together to respond to the many risks and opportunities of climate change.  Many key employers in the sector are members of ClimateWise, including lots of Discover Risk supporters and the CII.  To see their list of members click here.
