New guide for internships

New guide for internships We know that, these days, it does take a few applications to get the job or work experience position that you want.

When you are looking for an internship or work experience, you want to know that the experience itself will be a good one. Let's face it, there's nothing worse than going to a work placement with high expectations before realising that you'll be making the tea and doing the photocopying for a fortnight.

The CII is the world's largest professional body for insurance, risk and financial services. It has more than 105,000 members around the world.

In the UK, it has just launched its internship best practice guide which is good news. There are two key areas in it - one is to encourage more companies to formalise their internship positions, making them open to more people; the second is to encourage companies to sign a pledge to take on interns.

Here are just some of the companies that have made the commitment:

Allianz
Aon
Bluefin
Direct Line Group
Willis

You can find out more about these companies by looking at the employer section of the website.
