New Claims Academy now open in Brighton

New Claims Academy now open in Brighton

RiiG Limited is a claims consultancy business located in Brighton. It helps insurance companies, banks and specialist administrators with their claims management work.

RiiG’s clients are some of the biggest names in financial services. These companies rely on RiiG’s trained and experienced staff to help run their businesses. The company’s success and reputation has been built over the past 15 years and during this time RiiG has been at the forefront of innovation. By developing and changing the shape of the business to meet market needs and expectations, RiiG has become a leader in the field.

Claims teams are responsible for investigating incidents and paying out claims. They decide how valid the claim is and whether it's genuine or not, keeping an eye out for fraud. Before paying a claim, insurance companies need to be sure the claim is genuine. Insurers employ specially trained staff to make this assessment. Claims consultants need to be: detectives, lawyers, project managers, counsellors and cyber experts. With a career in insurance, you can be who you want to be.

The RiiG management team believes that it is vital to introduce new talent to the sector. It aims to do this through its new specialist claims training initiative, the Claims Academy. This is a structured programme focused on delivering the next generation of insurance claims professionals.

The goal of the Claims Academy is to generate 200 graduates by 2018. These graduates will fuel the expansion of the RiiG Limited business and support the growth of the wider UK insurance sector.

The Claims Academy’s launch programme is a two-stage course. It has been specifically created for talented young people who are passionate about building a successful career in insurance. The academy will help learners develop technical and soft skills that lay the foundations to be a respected insurance professional.

People skills are key in insurance. If you work in Claims, you're likely to become involved in investigating scenes of accidents and taking statements from other professionals, such as the police and medical and technical staff. Negotiating and empathy are equally important.
