Graduate Trainee in NW Financial Planning firm Smart Financial Planning is a highly-regarded Lifestyle Financial Planning company. It is setting new standards in terms of client care and with an insistence upon maintaining its position as a leading Financial Planning business in the region, it is looking for a Trainee Financial Adviser with similar aspirations. 

The company's clients are successful, high net-worth (HNW) individuals with complex business and financial affairs. They expect a service that is exemplary in every respect. Whether it be on the phone, in writing or face-to-face, you will naturally interact with clients in a highly courteous, efficient and friendly way. You’ll respond briskly to their requests and always aim to exceed their expectations. Importantly, its clients value attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll be pleased to hear that Smart Financial Planning is meticulous in all it does as this is something you’re passionate about too. 

You’ll already have some financial planning knowledge; more importantly you’ll have an appetite to learn more and to develop yourself. You will almost certainly be at graduate level or equivalent, be a fast learner and have the confidence to try new things (if you have the hunger, you will be helped to develop your skills).

You’ll be a good typist and will have some IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) as the business utilises a wide range of computer-based support. 

The opportunity is a three-year training programme covering: 

  • Year one - Financial Services administration, meeting participation, extensive soft skills training and completion of the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Year two - Paraplanning and technical administration, extensive soft skills training and some client advising during which you will complete the CII Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
  • Year three - the start of your full-time advisory career and the completion of your Certified Financial Planning licence
