GCSE leaver? Wiltshire-based role at NFU Mutual

NFU Mutual is one of the UK’s leading general insurance and financial services companies. It has been meeting customers’ needs for over 100 years through a network of offices around the country.

It now has an opportunity for two enthusiastic people to join the team in Marlborough as Customer Support Advisors. If you can work as part of a team and on your own initiative, as well as being well organised, with the ability to prioritise, then here is a great role for you.

Job Specification

Reporting to the Office Manager, you will undertake a variety of tasks including:

  • Dealing with general queries from customers relating to insurance products, meeting the customer's service standards
  • Developing customer relationships, seeking cross-selling opportunities for general insurance products, risk management services and financial services
  • Processing mid-term adjustments and helping with quotations within licensed authority
  • Checking, processing and managing accounting transactions, including premium collection
  • Making proactive calls to assist with Agency campaigns
  • Contributing to other duties to ensure the effective and efficient running of the agency, including processing renewals, assisting with claims, and general office duties.

Person Specification

Apply if you are someone who:

  • Is able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with customers, colleagues and business contacts, with a confident telephone manner 
  • Enjoys working in a team and possesses excellent organisational skills
  • Is experienced in using office systems
  • Is able to comply with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Has good numerical skills.


Previous customer service experience and knowledge of the insurance profession would be beneficial.

Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English Language, together with some basic PC skills
