Note - these roles are fixed term contracts up to 12 months

If you have an outgoing personality and like to help people, take a look at this role from NFU Mutual. Based in its Stratford-upon-Avon headquarters, you will be one of ten people starting at the same time - that's a good thing!

Now let's take a look at the business area:

Group Corporate Business is a specialist national unit dealing with the insurance needs of NFU Mutual’s largest and most complex clients, through its Agency Network and also through a select panel of partner brokers.

There are opportunities for Motor Claims Handlers to join a busy team.  Previous claims handling experience is not required as training will be provided.  What you will need is a positive, can-do attitude, enthusiasm and an ability and willingness to learn. 

These roles have been created specifically to provide additional support to a busy department as a new IT platform is rolled out during 2018.

Here's the role in more detail:

Under supervision, you will be responsible for handling a variety of motor claims in a cost-effective manner in accordance with the group guidelines, procedures and claims philosophy. This will include:
  • Deciding on indemnity and legal liability issues
  • Compliance with all regulatory and internal systems and controls
  • Identifying cases which may be suitable for the group fraud programmes
  • Initiating and co-ordinating investigations into liability and quantum
  • Negotiating with clients, claimants and their representatives
  • Reviewing and estimating on current claims files
  • Handling litigation and fraud cases
  • Client liaison in accordance with individual client requirements

If you're not familiar with all the terms above, remember that you will receive full training. 

What kind of person will thrive in this role?

You will be a good team worker, well organised and logical - able to prioritise effectively and provide high levels of support to experienced Claims Handler colleagues.  Verbal communication skills are particularly important as you will be using the telephone daily to deal with incoming queries and making large numbers of outgoing calls.  You will be able to demonstrate a passion for providing excellent customer service demonstrated through previous work experience.


You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English.
