Miles Fanning Legal is a niche law firm based in the City of London, providing specialist advice and support to insurers and their policy holders. We employ an experienced team of qualified lawyers and claims handlers who work together, using a state of the art claims management system, to deliver a bespoke claims handling service with a proven track record for delivering excellent results.

The job specification

The position offered is a permanent role starting as soon as possible. The role is for a Claims Administrator position assisting the Claims Team with the administrative aspects of personal injury claims arising from holiday accidents, mainly abroad (some in the UK). This will include completion of management information, data entry, completion of compensation recovery unit paperwork, opening and closing files within the company’s case management system and accounting systems, scanning correspondence into the case management system, assisting with document management exercises including copying and cataloguing disclosure.

The injury claims are varied, arising from fatal infections from exposure; to legionella; mauling from wild lions whilst on safari to straightforward slip and trip claims at hotels or on cruise ships. We handle an ever increasing number of claims brought against our clients as a result of alleged illness suffered by their customers, whilst on holiday.

Full training and support will be provided both in terms of the technical legal work but also the IT systems

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs A*-C grade including Maths and English

  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a good sense of humour

  • Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to learn new IT bespoke systems

  • An interest in insurance claims

  • Ability to work in a small team environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Excellent References

Additional skills or experience that would be beneficial, but are not essential are:

  • Basic administration experience e.g. filing, photocopying, data entry

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service

  • A second language – in particular Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Greek, Italian, Portuguese


£16,000 per annum

9.00 to 5.30, Mon – Fri

Place of Work

Beaufort House, 15 St Botolph Street, London, EC3A 7DT with occasional travel to resort as part of an investigation team.
