Staffordshire company expands workforce

Rapidly expanding firm, Onesure Insurance, is set to create around 100 new insurance jobs when it moves to larger premises over the coming weeks.

The Tunstall-based motor insurance company will begin recruiting immediately, and it is thought a mixture of positions - including sales advisers, customer service staff, IT workers and management - will be available, This Is Staffordshire reported.

Managing Director, Chris Lear, told The Sentinel that due the rising number of people looking for jobs in insurance companies, their present premises were inadequate.

Lear said: "We are getting more inquiries than we can cope with at the moment, but we have no room in our current building to take on more staff. Our plan is to take on enough people to fill the building and the way things are going at the moment, we can't see why that won't happen."

The firm, which started in 2006, is upscaling from 40 employees to a new 150-capacity building in Butt Lane, close to where he and finance director, Nigel Harper, used to live. Both feel it is an important move that invests in the area and local economy.

Harper said: "This is a good step forward for the company. It enables us to grow and continue the growth we have recently been achieving."

Lear and Harper are expecting to see a 75 per cent growth in business over the next 12 months, something which would not have been possible in current workplace in the High Street.
