How big do you like your business?

How big do you like your business?

When one thinks of large global companies, the ones that spring to mind tend to be in the IT, banking and fuel sectors.

While it's true that companes in these areas occupy some of the highest positions in the Fortune Global 500 rankings, companies in the risk profession are well represented too - even in the top 100:

Axa is ranked at #14 in the listings, with revenues of more than $160,000m. That places it ahead of other top 20 companies such as GE, Samsung and General Motors - plus Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett's investment vehicle.
Allianz is ranked at #27, with revenues of more than $125,000m. That is ahead of such companies as HP, AT&T, Carrefour and Citigroup.

Other risk companies making up the top 100 are Assicurazioni Generali at 33, AIG (also known as Chartis) at 44, Aviva at 64, Nippon Life Insurance at 81, Munich Re at 88 and Prudential at 91.

So, next time you think about graduate schemes for huge global employers, think about our sector too.
