Apprenticeship Week a success at Chaucer

Apprenticeship Week a success at Chaucer

Chaucer, the specialist Lloyd's insurance group, was a proud supporter of National Apprenticeship Week, hosting activities to help school and college leavers with their job searches and to promote career opportunities available at Chaucer.

Chaucer hosted 3 days of workshops in its office in the City of London and provided attendees with advice and tips on CV writing and how to succeed at interviews and job assessment centres. Other activities included an interactive Discover Risk game run by the CII, which enabled students to learn about the world of risk. Chaucer's current apprentices also spoke about their experiences and why the apprenticeship route was the best option for them.

In total, 35 students from schools in London and Kent attended the workshops and Catriona McCaughey, HR Assistant at Chaucer commented:

"This was our second year participating in National Apprenticeship Week and was a great opportunity for us to show potential apprentices what we have on offer for them. We had a good turnout, with enthusiastic students who showed a great interest in an insurance career. We also received some very positive feedback from them."

Chaucer launched its first Apprenticeship programme in 2012 and is now searching for talented and ambitious students to start their insurance careers through its 2014 programme. This is a great alternative to university and offers apprentices real responsibility and training through specialist placements throughout the business, full support towards their CII qualification, as well as a competitive salary and benefits.
